Artists Statement:
I have been a photographer for twenty years, and have been working as a graphic designer for the past three years. The majority of my past work was created with black and white film in my own darkroom, but four years ago I entered the realm of digital photography and fell in love with the possibilities and capabilities of the medium. I am also a fan of experimental music, and I was very excited to volunteer my photographic services for the Boise Experimental Music Festival. I have documented and photographed the Boise Experimental Music Festival for the past two years, and have to say it is both musically and visually stunning. The improvisation and inspiration that flows throughout the room is a strong current of creative energy. I inevitably try to include much of that creative energy in the photographs during the shoot as well as in my processing. I feel I create fantasy-like images of fine musicians and artists, in turn helping to inspire others.
