The premiere of "Work In Sanity" will be at 2:15 on Friday September 26th , 2008 at the Egyptian Theater and 4:30 on Saturday September 27th and the Flicks as part of the 2008 Idaho International Film Festival.
Work In Sanity is a narrative feature that explores the bewildering imagination of a telemarketer. Allen finds himself working as a telemarketer and his only hope of keeping his sanity is to squeeze in some kind of creative outlet by drawing and writing short stories between his phone calls. The stories are his only life-line in an atmosphere of security cameras, disgruntled co-workers, and endless rejection over the phone. Populating his stories with alternate versions of his co-workers and himself, he explores the prevalence of addiction and alienation in corporate America.
Chad & Cecilia Rinn of Full Tilt Boogie L.L.C. have been working on the Work In Sanity for 6 years. Chad wrote the original short stories while at work, to help survive his own stint as a telemarketer, and later developed four of them into short screen plays, all of which screened at the Idaho International Film festival over the last four years. Now all the short stories have been combined with new footage to create an absurd, and at times disturbing peek into the head of a telemarketer. Chad & Cecilia are veterans of the local independent scene. Their first narrative feature, "Half Ass Jig" was completed in 2001. They also helped form the local film support group Small Pond Films.
